The Future of Management Education (FOME) Alliance has announced the HKUST Business School has become an Alliance Partner. The announcement by FOME - an “alliance of like-minded business schools who share a vision that online learning should have the same transformational impact as the very best face-to-face courses” - follows HKUST’s decision to work with insendi.
The ambitious HKUST Business School’s programme will use an innovative approach to online business education to meet the growing demand from Asian business for the flexible delivery of high-quality MBAs. The School plans to develop a set of core courses in MBA for their part-time MBA first.
The FOME alliance already includes progressive business schools around the world, including ESMT Berlin (Germany), SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), Imperial College Business School (UK), BI Norwegian Business School (Norway), EDHEC Business School (France), IE Business school (Spain), the University of Melbourne (Australia) and Ivey Business School (Canada).
These institutions share innovations, insights and moments of online teaching and learning excellence across the Alliance, developing leading technologies for online learning, and discuss and experiment with new models of business education.
According to insendi founder and Director Dr David LeFevre, “The news that the HKUST Business School will become part of the FOME Alliance is exciting and marks a far-sighted commitment to quality in online teaching and learning, collaborating with other innovators internationally. FOME members acknowledge that the challenge of reconceptualising education in the digital age cannot be solved alone. Its work is based on the understanding that the best universities and business schools embrace the ideas and interventions of others, and that is exactly what the HKUST Business is doing. We are proud to help them do so, and see tremendous opportunities for their work in Asia using these technologies.”
“Our School shares a vision to provide quality management education that makes a transformational impact via technology. Becoming part of the FOME Alliance is a significant step in both our online and business education strategy with real promise for the future. And we look forward to more innovative collaborations based on our shared knowledge and technology,” said Prof. Kar Yan Tam, Dean of HKUST Business School.
