The Future of Online Management Education (FOME) alliance, supported by the insendi learning platform, has been shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education E-Learning Award. This award highlights projects which use electronic learning tools in an innovative way, and facilitate and support learning through the use of information and communications technology.
The FOME alliance was formed by four business schools who co-invested into building a new platform for online management education and collaborating on online initiatives. This has now grown to an alliance of nine members located across the globe, aligned in the belief that online education can be high quality and high impact. The alliance aims to create new paradigms for high quality online and blended learning courses and executive education. It achieves this with the support of insendi, one of the world’s most innovative learning design platforms, to innovate and build the very best courses possible.
The ongoing Covid pandemic has focussed universities and business schools on their blended and fully online offerings, with regards to both availability and quality. Technologies are emerging to enable business schools to deliver to the demands of lifelong learning while Covid has accelerated learners’ desire for greater flexibility within the wider education sector. The alliance responds to the challenge of how business schools can collaboratively respond to the new market demand for accessible, flexible, high impact online education by sharing knowledge to create high quality online/blended learning courses and executive education.
This is done by developing in-house capacity with the support of insendi - building creative, highly skilled Edtech teams at each business school, who can discuss and develop new ways of designing management education. The learner experience for FOME is paramount and this high-touch approach ensures higher satisfaction levels. The insendi platform is specifically designed to support and push forward our vision of guided, paced, mentored learning experiences: teachers and educators can endorse answers, provide personalised feedback, encourage debate and dialogue, and design tailored learning pathways.
Rather than a static repository, the FOME learning platform delivered by insendi brings to life vibrant, converging, dynamic spaces where learning can take place and flourish. This shared platform acts as the conduit for collaboration. Tools, pedagogies and materials flow across our network. New evidence and knowledge is readily applicable to all. Academic collaboration is straightforward and the benefits reaped by all the members of the alliance.
The FOME alliance and insendi will both present to the QS Reimagine Education Conference in December.
