The specification document for the insendi platform is as follows:

Programme and course development

The programme and course development functionality will enable the Licensee to:

• Create areas within the Licensee’s instance of the platform at the ‘programme of study’ level.
• Create areas within the ‘programme of study’ level for individual courses.
• Create materials within the course area comprising a series of weeks, screens and activities.

Course delivery

The platform will enable the Licensee to deliver courses to students. This will include:

• Administration
  • The ability to add/remove students/staff to programme and course areas
  • The ability to create and modify groups of students
  • The ability to post messages to students via the newsfeed areas
  • The ability to upload files to the platform for access by students
  • The creation of a programme support page for the provision of administrative
    information
  • The creation of a class list
• Teaching
  • The ability for students to access and interact with materials created via the Course
    Development Toolkit
  • The ability for teaching staff and administrators view and monitor the progress of
    students through the course materials
  • The ability to post messages to students via the newsfeed areas
• Assessment
  • The ability to grade activities in the platform
