We are always looking for smart, talented people who can grow with us.

At the same time, we actively discourage an environment of long hours, instead ensuring everybody has time for a full personal life too.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Learning Experience Designer to design, develop, and support the delivery of our online programmes for our university partners around the globe. This position would suit someone with knowledge of online learning theory and experience of learning design in higher education or business contexts.

Crucially, a love of both teaching and learning is essential, as an aspect of this role is to train learning experience designers at partner institutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of the lifecycle of an online degree programme or course - from its initial design, build and development, through to its delivery and evaluation. They will employ the latest in technological and pedagogical innovation at every stage.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leading the design of online courses created for partners of Insendi.
  • Working closely with senior academic colleagues within the partner institutions and championing Insendi’s learning design approach.
  • Supporting filming.
  • Building courses on the platform.
  • Leading the review of courses after they have been built.
  • Working with the programme team, faculty and teaching staff to ensure courses are delivered consistently and impactfully.
  • Training and mentoring LXDs at partner institutions.
  • Advising on the evaluation of courses through the use of learning analytics and qualitative feedback.
  • Contributing to discussions of new technologies and pedagogies.

Qualifications, Skills and experience

  • An undergraduate degree ideally in the field of education, business or technology.
  • Prior experience designing online and blended courses.
  • A good understanding of online education: knowledge of fundamental learning theories and learning design models.
  • Collaboration and communication skills: the ability to work effectively with senior faculty, project managers, senior stakeholders, developers and other specialists.
  • Strong writing skills in English: the ability to create vivid learning narratives through content, write effective copy, instructional and narrative text, as well as audio/video scripts.
  • Creativity: the ability to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances the learner experience.
  • Organisation: the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and use project management tools.
  • Willingness to travel: when things get back to normal, our learning designers must be willing to travel globally to partner schools to conduct training sessions and support filming.

Some additional points on what we're looking for in candidates

  • Experience as a Learning Designer is highly desirable but not essential - as stated above, what is crucial is a love of both teaching and learning and the ability to apply that in helping us to create outstanding online courses.
  • This is not a managerial or consultancy position. At Insendi we are committed to the development of our staff and there will be opportunity for progression, but for this post we are looking for practitioners to help us build our programmes.

With the nature of our work being online, our business has adapted to fully remote working during the recent travel restrictions. Insendi is based in London, but it is not essential that candidates for this post are based in the UK - we're looking for the right people to join our team, wherever based. However, please note that we may on occasion require you to travel to the office.
