Job Summary

We are looking for a Learning Experience Designer to design, develop and support the delivery of management education and executive education across the globe. This position would suit someone with some knowledge of online learning theory and some experience of learning design in higher education or business contexts. Knowledge of or exposure to business and economics subjects is advantageous. Crucially, a love of both teaching and learning is essential, as an aspect of this role is to train learning experience designers at partner institutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of the lifecycle of an online degree programme or course - from its initial design, build and development, through to its delivery and evaluation. They will employ the latest in technological and pedagogical innovation at every stage.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leading the design of online courses created for partners of Insendi.
  • Working closely with senior academic colleagues within the partner institutions and championing Insendi’s learning design approach.
  • Supporting filming.
  • Building courses on the platform.
  • Leading the review of courses after they have been built.
  • Working with the programme team, faculty and teaching staff to ensure courses are delivered consistently and impactfully.
  • Training, providing consultancy and mentoring LXDs at partner institutions.
  • Advising on the evaluation of courses through the use of learning analytics and qualitative feedback.
  • Contributing to discussions of new technologies and pedagogies.

Qualifications, Skills and experience

  • An undergraduate degree ideally in the field of education, business or technology.
  • Prior experience designing online and blended courses.
  • A good understanding of online education: Knowledge of fundamental learning theories and learning design models.
  • Collaboration and communication skills: the ability to correspond effectively with senior faculty, project managers, senior stakeholders, developers and other specialists.
  • Strong writing skills in English: the ability to create vivid learning narratives through content, write effective copy, instructional and narrative text, as well as audio/video scripts.
  • Creativity: the ability to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances the learner experience.
  • Organisation: the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and use project management tools.

We are looking for a Senior Learning Experience Designer to lead the design of exceptional online programmes and courses, and guide clients through the entire development process. This position would suit someone with deep knowledge of and interest in online learning theory, extensive experience of learning design in higher education or business contexts, and advanced project management skills.

Alongside the design of specific courses, the successful candidate will oversee and advise on the learning design for online or blended programmes of study. They will coordinate with senior stakeholders such as Academic Directors and senior faculty leads. They will ensure consistency of approach and identify opportunities to innovate across a programme or suite of courses.

  • Advising partners on Insendi’s pedagogy and design approach.

Qualifications, Skills and experience

  • A postgraduate or doctorate degree, ideally in the field of education, business or technology.
  • Extensive learning design experience in a university context.
  • Broad experience of online teaching and/or lesson and curriculum planning. Experience of supporting online programmes and courses.
  • Collaboration, communication, and advanced presentation skills: the ability to promote pedagogical practices and approaches; experience presenting to and working with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills in English: ensuring accuracy and consistency across courses and programmes, as well as creating vivid learning narratives through content, write effective copy.
  • Creativity: the ability to create cohesive, innovative online and blended programmes.
  • Organisation and project management skills: the ability to manage multiple projects and work to ambitious deadlines.
